Residential Support Worker Opportunity

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at a school in Barnsley. This role offers a unique chance to work closely with children and young people, providing them with support and guidance to help them thrive in both their personal and educational lives.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for students. Your strong sense of responsibility, patience, and empathy will help shape the futures of the young people you work with.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional and practical support to students in a residential setting
  • Assist students with daily routines, including morning and evening care
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Support educational and extracurricular activities
  • Encourage positive behaviour and personal development
  • Monitor and report on the wellbeing and progress of students
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people in a residential, educational, or care setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping young people
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Up-to-date CV and enhanced DBS registration
