Job Title: Commercial Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Counsel to join our team at Vodafone UK. As a key member of our Commercial Legal Team, you will provide proactive and solutions-focussed commercial legal advice on a wide range of commercial contracts.

About the Role

As a Commercial Counsel, you will be responsible for drafting and leading the negotiation of high-value, high-risk, and strategic commercial contracts. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide pragmatic and solution-oriented legal advice and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including procurement agreements, wholesale mobile services contracts, and carrier services agreements.
  • Providing legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, including Supply Chain Management, Device & Operations, Wholesale, Networks, and Business Development & Strategy teams.
  • Working closely with the Disputes legal team to determine position and strategy, advise internal customers, and achieve resolution.
  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with key stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved quickly and escalating where necessary.
  • Assisting Senior Counsel with the supervision of trainees and paralegals in the Team.
Requirements
  • Good technical grounding in general commercial and contract law.
  • A track record of advising on a number of material commercial transactions.
  • Experience of managing multiple work streams and multiple stakeholders, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Good decision-making skills and ability to identify and communicate key risks to internal customers and UK legal management team.
  • Strong appetite to learn about Vodafone UK's business, particularly in highest spending procurement categories, wholesale business lines, major outsourcing projects, and strategic network technology projects.
