About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Dietitian to join our Nutrition and Dietetic service in Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. This role will be based with the MDT at the Victoria Centre in Swindon, with travel to Devizes to provide cover for the inpatient ward on the Green Lane Hospital site.
Key Responsibilities
- To assist in providing, maintaining and developing a clinical dietetic service within the Trust.
- To plan, justify and be responsible for the delivery of specialised dietary advice to service users and their families/carers.
- To plan, manage and prioritise own clinical workload and to ensure maximum efficiency in all areas.
- To plan, coordinate and deliver nutrition/dietetic training for professional and support staff.
- To participate in dietetic student training.

Person Specification
- Degree or postgraduate diploma in Dietetics.
- Significant demonstrable post-registration experience as a Band 5 Dietitian.
- An understanding of MDT working.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Able to show initiative within scope of practice and evidence-based practice.
- HCPC registered Dietitian.
- Clinical experience in the following areas: Malnutrition, Diabetes, Weight Management.
- Able to manage a clinical caseload using time management and prioritisation skills.
Desirable
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Understanding of Mental Health in dietetics.
- Flexible and able to adapt to change.
- Ability to teach and train others in specialist area.
- Experience in Mental Health.
- Behaviour Change Training Part 1 (motivational interviewing).
- Current UK driving licence holder and access to own transport.
