Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Youth Support Worker to join our team at Peabody, providing support to young residents in Lambeth. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with teenagers and a background in youth support or a related field.


Responsibilities:



  • Provide hands-on support to residents, including welfare checks and administrative tasks
  • Collaborate with external services to ensure the best possible outcomes for young residents
  • Manage complex needs and provide practical and emotional support
  • Establish consistent, trusting relationships with residents to promote independence
  • Manage challenging behaviour and respond to potential issues
  • Work autonomously and navigate difficult situations to prevent escalation

Requirements:



  • Experience of working with teenagers between the ages of 16-17 years
  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour
  • Knowledge or experience of safeguarding and trauma-informed principles
  • Ability to work shifts between 8AM and 10PM, 37.5 hours per week, including weekends and bank holidays
  • Enhanced DBS check and subscription to the update service
