Are you a dynamic and innovative individual looking to take on a challenging role in a manufacturing business? We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Telford.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of improving processes within a warehouse setting, as well as a strong knowledge of ERP systems and experience in successfully implementing new systems. This is a £10m turnover business looking to strengthen their financial position within the next 18 months to 2 years.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing inventory levels, optimizing workflow processes, and ensuring efficient production schedules are met.
Leading a team of warehouse staff, providing training and guidance as needed to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
Supporting the Operations Director in upgrading our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, introducing a Warehouse Management System (WMS), and collaborating across departments to empower colleagues and ensure customers and partners choose us.
Helping build a strong supply chain by working closely with our supply partners, monitoring and reporting on supplier performance, and ensuring clear and professional communication with suppliers at all times.
Identifying and implementing operational and warehouse process improvements, removing duplicated effort and documentation, and eliminating activities that add no or little value.
Accountability for the purchasing, shipping, storage, and distribution of all customer stock to agreed schedules.
Implementation of agreed stock management strategy, ensuring robust stock planning and forecast/schedule management to maintain stock to agreed customer levels while avoiding over-stocking and potential stockouts.
Effective and efficient deployment of staff, including proactive management, coaching, and performance reviews of the Ops and Warehouse team.
Developing and delivering plans to boost operation performance with the introduction of WMS and upgrading our ERP, working with agreed partners and technology.
Helping rationalize Operational and Warehouse reporting to ensure focus on core KPIs and automation of analytical reports required for stock planning.
Requirements for the Operations Manager:
Experience in working in and taking the lead in an Operations Manufacturing and Warehousing environment.
Experience in digital transformation, strong knowledge of NAV2016, ERP, WMS, and upgrade experience from an ERP to MS Dynamics Business Central (desirable).
Strong project management skills, a goal-oriented proactive planner.
A hunger to grow oneself, alongside business growth.
This is a great role with a business that has worked hard to nurture a great environment and has a very clear progression plan. The long-term plan would be for the right candidate to become part of the board of Directors.
