Postdoctoral Research Scientist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join our vibrant research environment at the Pandemic Sciences Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing independent research on AI/ML and Infectious Disease Epidemiology, publishing their work in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and representing the group at external scientific and public health policy meetings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and conducting research projects on AI/ML and Infectious Disease Epidemiology
  • Collaborating with international colleagues during health crises and emergencies
  • Developing and presenting research proposals to senior researchers
  • Representing the research group at external meetings and seminars

To be successful in this role, you will hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in a computational subject, such as statistical epidemiology or computational statistics, and have sufficient specialist knowledge in genomic and epidemiological modelling.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings, are essential.
