Job Title: Transport Planner

We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to oversee the day-to-day planning of our transport operation. As a key member of our Transport team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites.
  • Planning daily workload for a fleet of vehicles based on and off site.
  • Dealing with queries and issues from customers, sub-contract hauliers, and warehousing sites.
  • Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to maintain high standards of performance.
  • Maintaining and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
  • Reporting problems and dealing with issues that arise.
  • Supporting the fleet and driver training team as required.
  • Completing pre and post-debrief for all driver shifts.

Requirements:

  • High level of transport planning expertise in a busy environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels within the business.
  • Ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit the Company and our customers.
  • Highly motivated individual able to work as part of a small team.
