About the Role

Premier Engineering is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in a permanent position. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming CNC machines, as well as performing electrical wiring and fitting of CNC control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical wiring and fitting of CNC control systems
  • Mechanical fitting of servo motors and machine tool systems
  • Unloading, loading, and installation of machine tools
  • Service and repair of machine tools and inspecting components as required
  • PLC writing and diagnostics on Fanuc, Siemens, Fagor, and Heidenhain controls
  • CNC milling or turning working with varied controls
  • Running multiple machines - small to medium batch work
  • Reading from engineering drawings
  • Adhering to company H&S requirements
  • Potential to become a CNC trainer, training customers in the use of their machines
Requirements
  • A working knowledge of 415v, 230v, and 24v electrical systems
  • Time-served apprenticeship in engineering or manufacturing
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Forklift operation experience (preferred but not necessary)
  • Experience machining and manufacturing precision parts and components
  • Previous experience working as a CNC operator, machinist, or miller
  • Ability to read from engineering drawings
  • Previous experience working in a similar machine shop environment
  • Ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work alternating weekly shifts
