About the Role

The Active Communities Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the delivery of our new project, The ACN Way. This project aims to build a network of 500 groups across the UK, fostering connections, unity, and a stronger voice for the Voluntary and Community Sector.

As the Regional Network Lead, you will work closely with Voluntary and Community Sector groups in the North of England, providing specialist mentoring and capacity building services to improve their skills, confidence, and positioning. Your role will involve developing organisational development action plans and leadership development, working closely with group leaders to identify areas for support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with grassroots groups to ensure their support and success.
  • Work with each group to develop tailored organisational development action plans and leadership development, providing specialist mentoring to identify areas for support.
  • Organise network events to expand the network and connect groups.
  • Manage multiple stakeholder relationships, adapting to meet their needs.
  • Collaborate with the wider UK team and organisational partners to provide the best support for groups.
  • Continuously work with local stakeholders to understand changes in the local landscape, adapting support as needed.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in the Voluntary and Community Sector at a senior/leadership level.
  • Strong connections in the region across multiple disciplines and a proven ability to broker and connect groups.
  • Previous experience delivering capacity building work, including mentoring organisational leaders.
  • A track record of sustaining and building the strengths of local groups.
  • Experience working strategically with funders, statutory bodies, commissioners, and decision makers to drive positive change for the Voluntary and Community Sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in measuring, monitoring, evaluating, and communicating impact at a community level.
  • Experience managing a caseload of Voluntary and Community Sector groups with diverse needs, experiences, and development.

What We Offer

The Active Communities Network offers a competitive salary of £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year and a full-time work arrangement.
