About the Role:

Sellick Partnership Limited is seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Senior Planning Lawyer to join our client, One Legal, a shared legal service between four councils in Gloucestershire. As a Senior Planning Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of legal advice and support in relation to planning matters, including development management, planning policy, and community infrastructure levy work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of lawyers and legal officers, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services.
  • Provide expert advice on complex planning matters, including planning appeals and judicial reviews, and represent the council at planning committee meetings and hearings.
  • Develop and implement planning policies and strategies to support the council's development plans and objectives.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as planning and development, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer with significant experience in planning law and a strong understanding of the planning system.
  • Proven track record of managing and supervising teams, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex planning legislation and policy.
