About the Role:

This Consultant Psychiatrist position offers an exciting opportunity to join our team of highly specialized mental health professionals.

As a key member of our Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), you will be responsible for providing multi-disciplinary assessment, treatment, and care to individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of referrals/admissions to the service
  • Diagnose and formulate management plans in complex presentations
  • Provide expert management in treatment-resistant and complex cases
  • Assess and manage risk, including vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety, and risk of harm to others
  • Prepare reports and attend hearings for Mental Health Review Tribunals and Managers' Hearings
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including external partners
  • Develop service clinical priorities aligned with national and professional guidance and standards
  • Engage with service transformation programs and participate in Consultant meetings for their service and directorate

Requirements:

  • Medical Degree
  • Membership of the Specialist Register
  • GMC Registration
  • Desirable: MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Approved Clinician status

Estimated Salary: £120,000 - £150,000 per annum
