Job Summary

This is a highly valued and key role within the UK Raytheon business, supporting a functional team. As a contracts and commercial specialist, you will work as a sole expert for a significant programme, providing contractual and commercial governance to your team. Your responsibilities will include producing business case briefings and financial reporting, reviewing and approving contracts, and providing leadership to contract/agreement negotiations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain commercial strategies to support business growth and profitability.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual and commercial matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage contract relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement commercial solutions.
  • Monitor and report on commercial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Ensure effective risk management and mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, business principles, and governing law.
  • Experience in all aspects of commercial and defence contracting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive performance through others.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work at all levels with internal and external customers.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • A willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required.

Desirable

  • Accreditation in Commercial and Supply Chain Management.
  • Eligible to obtain security clearance (SC) beyond baseline personnel security standard (BPSS).
  • Strong programme management skills, including risk management and programme metrics.
  • Experience of working with international suppliers or customers.
