About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant (SEN/SEMH) to join our team at a reputable group of SEMH/SEN schools in Barnstaple.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with SEMH/SEN, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students with SEMH/SEN in their learning and development, assisting teachers in delivering a tailored curriculum, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, and providing one-to-one and small group support.

We offer a competitive salary: £24,000 per annum and a supportive and inclusive working environment with opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH/SEN in their learning and development
  • Assist teachers in delivering a tailored curriculum
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN/SEMH students
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
