Job Title: Child and Educational Psychologist

We are currently supporting a Middlesbrough school who are looking for an Educational Psychologist to join their team. This school prides themselves on learning and wellbeing, which is at the centre of everything that they do.

Job Summary:

To promote the achievement and wellbeing of children and young people, especially those with Special Educational Needs and/or other barriers to their learning and development. Under the direction of the Head of School, they will deliver a full range of generic psychological services covering consultation, assessment, intervention, research, and training functions to support the development of pupil attainment and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting psychological assessments and evaluations to identify the needs of children and young people.
  • Developing and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) to support the achievement and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Providing counselling and support to students, parents, and staff to promote their achievement and wellbeing.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create supportive learning environments that promote the achievement and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Delivering training and workshops on mental health and educational strategies to support the development of pupil attainment and wellbeing.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest research and best practices in educational psychology to ensure that the school is providing the best possible support for children and young people.
Requirements:
  • A recognised qualification in Psychology.
  • Successful completion of a recognised post-graduate training course in Educational Psychology.
  • Experience of carrying out psychological assessments and interventions in a variety of educational settings.
  • Experience of attendance at multi-agency meetings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity.
