Commodity Finance Specialist

At Macquarie, we are seeking a skilled Commodity Finance Specialist to join our team in the Commodity Markets and Finance division in EMEA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for originating physical transactions in the oil space, leveraging our financing, risk management, trading, and logistics capabilities globally.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced structured originator to join our global oil business. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone contributes ideas and drives outcomes. We are a global financial services group operating in 34 markets and with 55 years of unbroken profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate physical transactions in the oil space, leveraging our financing, risk management, trading, and logistics capabilities globally.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to drive business growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Analyze market trends and develop strategies to stay ahead of the competition.

Requirements

• 8+ years' relevant experience in the oil market in a bank, trader, and/or corporate, ideally with focus on commodity finance and/or structured finance.
• Strong understanding of the market, players, and the suite of commodity financing structures - ownership structures, prepayments, secured facilities, and letters of credit/receivables.
• Existing network of contacts and ability to grow the business through developing new relationships through targeted approaches.
• Risk management mindset, with experience in dealing with various internal stakeholders.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with a track record of delivering results.
