SSE is committed to becoming a leading energy company in a low-carbon world. As a key member of our Supplier Relationship Management team, you will play a pivotal role in engaging and building productive relationships with key Software and SaaS Suppliers.

About the Role

This is a brand-new position that will be part of our Supplier Relationship Management team. Reporting to the Lead Supplier Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing productive relationships with our major Software and SaaS suppliers, which have been selected through our Supplier Segmentation process in collaboration with our internal customers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Implement and manage productive relationships between IT, P&C, BU, and IT Key Suppliers, supporting Supplier Segmentation in collaboration with IT to identify key suppliers.
  2. Provide commercial and contractual advice and insights to Procurement and Commercial leadership and Directors of the SSE Group.
  3. Manage a portfolio of Suppliers within the Software category with a value of £50-100m per annum to support the delivery of Procurement & Commercial department KPIs and objectives in line with Procurement Manual, Commercial Manual, and the IT Contract Management Governance Manual.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  1. A comprehensive and proven in-depth knowledge and experience of the software and SaaS market and Supply chain, including experience in drafting, interpreting, and negotiating complex IT & Telco Contracts.
  2. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a highly experienced in building and maintaining relationships with IT & Telco Suppliers like Microsoft, Oracle, and GE.
  3. A proven track record in communicating effectively with Senior Management and Directors to build valued and 'trusted partner relationships.'
  4. Experience in leading the most complex technology commercial negotiations and operating with the strategic/long-term in mind to ensure SSE is leveraging both financial and operational opportunities across the SSE Group.
