Job Description

**Financial Controller**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Connected Search Group Ltd. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations and ensuring the financial health of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of financial statements, management accounts, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit, liaising with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting systems, providing accurate, complete, and timely financial information.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads.
  • Analyze performance against budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage and monitor the company's cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity.
  • Develop strategies to optimize working capital and improve cash flow.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal control systems, safeguarding assets and ensuring the integrity of financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and legislation, including tax laws, VAT, and payroll regulations.
  • Oversee the implementation of financial policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and adherence across the organization.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, and create a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, set objectives, and provide timely feedback.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as commercial, sales, and operations, to support and lead the alignment of business and financial KPIs.
  • Develop long-term financial plans aligned with the company's strategic goals.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to inform business decisions and drive growth.
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (preferably in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, engineering, or a related field).
  • Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or any other relevant qualification), with at least 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in a financial managerial/leadership position.
  • Experience within an engineering, or projects-based, organization is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Experience in the implementation and/or integration of ERP, or related, systems, is desirable but not essential.

Benefits:

  • £65k to £75k salary.
  • 25 days holiday, with the ability to purchase an additional 3 days after probation.
  • 5% employer, 5% employee pension contributions.

  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours.
