About the Role

We are seeking two experienced Consultants in Palliative Medicine to join our dynamic team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. As a Consultant in Palliative Medicine, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to patients with palliative needs, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive palliative care reviews to patients in hospital and community settings.
  • Support daily ward reviews to optimize patient care and flow to the Hospice and Community.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours specialist palliative care consultant on-call rota for the area.
  • Undertake teaching, examination, and accreditation duties as required.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, including quality improvement and clinical audit.

Person Specification
  • MBBS, Mb ChB, or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Higher medical qualification (e.g., MD, MSc).
  • Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Entry onto the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register in Specialist Palliative Medicine.
