About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Rare Disease Lead Scientist at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in human genetics and genomic services, with experience in managing complex organisational services.

Key responsibilities include providing scientific leadership across the North East & Yorkshire Genomic Laboratory Hub, working closely with national and local scientific teams, and contributing to regional and national agendas for genomics.

The successful applicant will have significant broad practical and theoretical knowledge of Human Genetics, as well as highly developed organisational skills and self-motivation.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Requirements
  • Graduate in relevant honours degree in science or additional postgraduate qualification if not appropriate degree.
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (Part 2)
