Job Title: SEN Teacher

Job Summary:

We're committed to providing an exceptional education for our students with special educational needs. As an SEN Teacher, you'll play a critical role in delivering a tailored curriculum that maximises pupils' achievement and potential.

About the Role:

  • To secure high-quality teaching, effective use of resources, and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils in consultation with the Headteacher/Senior Lead for curriculum and learning.
  • To teach a range of skills and techniques as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school's curriculum.
  • Support the development of the provision that has a whole-school impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To have knowledge and understanding of strategies that relate to the education and personal development of SEN pupils, including effective behaviour management techniques and opportunities to praise and reward.
  • Implementing a school's vision, aims, priorities, targets, curriculum policies, and action plans in relation to classroom practice.
  • Statutory curriculum requirements and the requirements for assessment, recording, and reporting of pupils' attainment and progress.
  • The characteristics of high-quality teaching and learning, as well as strategies to improve and sustain high standards of teaching and learning leading to achievement for all pupils.
  • The implications of the code of practice of special educational needs for teaching and learning.

Requirements:

Educated to Post Graduate Cert Ed/QTS level, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every pupil to reach their potential.
