Purchase Ledger Clerk Role at Biffa

We are seeking a skilled Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our expanding Business Support team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely payment of suppliers and maintaining accurate financial records.

This role is ideal for an individual with a strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. You will be processing invoices, investigating supplier queries, and reconciling statements on a monthly basis.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate coding and processing of invoices within agreed timelines
  • Effective communication with suppliers to resolve any discrepancies or issues
  • Maintaining up-to-date financial records, including Supplier Statements
  • Chasing internal teams to clear aged debt in a timely manner

In addition to these key responsibilities, you will also be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support both internal and external stakeholders
  • A minimum of 12 months experience in high-volume transactional finance
  • Strong Excel skills, including lookup functions and pivot tables
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in your work
