Career Opportunity: Civil Engineering Project Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Durham. As a key member of our Highways, Transport & Infrastructure division, you will be responsible for overseeing projects of various sizes and scopes. Your primary goal will be to ensure the preparation and maintenance of accurate budgets, fostering strong relationships with clients and internal teams to guarantee projects are completed within projected budgets.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, including infrastructure, roads, and utilities. If you possess expertise in Contract Management, specifically C-MAR and National Highways contracts, we encourage you to apply.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working on civil engineering projects, as well as experience in cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting for large-scale projects. Additionally, they should have a strong understanding of various construction contracts such as NEC, JCT, and FIDIC.

This is a fast-paced environment where no two days will be the same. You must be adaptable to changing priorities and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement commercial strategy effectively
  • Oversee projects of diverse sizes and scopes
  • Prepare precise budgets at tender award and update them monthly using Elite
  • Procure works to meet or exceed programme and tender budgets
  • Draft and manage sub-contract documents
  • Handle accounts for clients and subcontractors
  • Conduct weekly program, progress, and cost reviews and analyses
  • Manage change control processes
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities
  • Monitor and report financials, coordinating closely with the project team
  • Develop and agree on project forecasts with operational teams
  • Conduct detailed commercial analyses of various outputs
  • Provide commercial support for tenders
  • Submit monthly payment applications
  • Adhere to approved work procedures

Salary: £45,000-£55,000 per annum
