Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Academic Professional in Construction Education to join our team at MidKent College. As a key member of our Construction and Built Environment department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, ensuring they receive an outstanding level of service.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching and Learning: Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students on our construction programmes, including Level 3 T-level in Design, Surveying & Planning, Level 4 & 5 HNC/D in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, and Building Services.
  2. Course Management: Undertake day-to-day course management duties, including communication, problem-solving, diagnostic compliance, timetable checks and amendments, arranging cover for lessons, planning and coordinating work experience and enrichment activities, and coordinating internal verification scheduling.
  3. Student Support: Assist with the recruitment and selection of suitable candidates for courses, manage enrolment procedures effectively, and provide support to students with their pastoral needs, guiding and directing them in both academic and personal matters.
  4. Quality Assurance: Monitor student attendance and student results, including start-of-year registers, exam entry and attendance, and report on attendance, retention, achievement, and success.
  5. Professional Development: Participate in relevant college meetings, groups, committees, and quality assurance mechanisms, including verification, moderation, course reviews, and Self-Assessment Reviews (SAR).
