We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Expert to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the Weapons Test Section, overseeing Mechanical RIP outs for this section, and ensuring that all projects are completed efficiently and effectively.

This role requires strong commissioning knowledge of Submarine Weapons Handling Systems, as well as a solid understanding of Installations and Final Installation processes for mechanical systems. You will work closely with other departments to ensure safe control of work and oversee review and authorisation of test documentation related to the Weapons Test Section.

You will also play a key role in reviewing and planning training for mechanical engineers in this section, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.

Job Summary:

Lead a team of engineers in the Weapons Test Section, overseeing Mechanical RIP outs and ensuring project completion. Work closely with other departments to ensure safe control of work and review/authorise test documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe control of work with other departments
  • Review and authorise test documentation related to the Weapons Test Section
  • Deputise for Weapons Managers when needed
  • Review and plan training for mechanical engineers in this section
