Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Genetics Specialist to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with rare genetic disorders.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical genetics, including pediatric genetics, and will be able to take full and independent clinical responsibility. They will also be expected to participate in clinical audit and have a proven track record of relevant publications in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Key responsibilities include taking shared responsibility for cancer genetics referrals to clinics at St George's University Hospital and around the SW Thames region, as well as developing and leading on specialist cancer services. The post-holder will also be expected to provide training for junior colleagues and support the Genetics Counsellors with review and management of complex cases.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to research and teaching, with experience in training, teaching, and assessing undergraduate medical students. A Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education or equivalent qualification is desirable.

The salary for this role is £105,504-£139,882 per annum pro rata, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development and a supportive work environment.
