Head of Product

We are seeking a seasoned Product Director to lead our Business Analysis team in Milton Keynes. As a key member of our Group IT team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation of business analysts within the business-aligned team. Your primary objective will be to structure the business analysts, ensuring the right ratio is assigned to agile teams, and that they possess the necessary skills to support the business in analysis and design of future enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of business and system analysts within the business-aligned agile teams.
  • Recruit and develop business analysts as needed.
  • Ensure analysis processes are well-documented, communicated, and trained.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of product development, ensuring analysts support engineers through the build and test process.
  • Lead the day-to-day execution of product delivery and development.
  • Ensure product development priorities are driven by commercial and profitable outcomes.
  • Provide a framework for evaluating the product portfolio and investment decisions.
  • Ensure products are managed to requisite quality, capturing all necessary requirements from across the business and minimizing business operational disruption.
  • Continuously suggest enhanced ways of developing the team and their capabilities.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience.
  • Strong talent management skills, including talent development, coaching, mentoring, and team motivation.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams.
  • Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Understanding of relevant tools (e.g., Jira, Azure Dev Ops, etc.), with an eagerness to learn about new and unfamiliar technologies.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand and drive business objectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, including an ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
  • Adaptability and ability to manage rapid change in business needs, processes, or technologies.
  • Able to take pragmatic decisions to move forward with an eye for short/medium/long-term outcomes.
