Mechanical Engineer

The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to contribute to the successful installation and maintenance of water treatment plants in Kent. This hands-on role involves working on-site and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical water infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Assembly: Install and assemble mechanical components and systems in water treatment plants, including pumps, valves, piping, filters, and related equipment.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, including troubleshooting issues, repairing damaged parts, and ensuring systems operate efficiently.
- Fabrication and Welding: (If applicable) Fabricate and weld metal components, including pipework, support structures, and other mechanical parts, according to engineering specifications.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including working in confined spaces, wearing personal protective equipment, and following company safety protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and material usage.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, supervisors, and other tradespeople, to ensure project success.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
- Valid EUSR Card (Utilities Skills Certification Scheme)
- First Aid Certification
- Medium Risk Confined Space Certification with current medical
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally in the water treatment or construction industry.
- Proven ability to work safely and efficiently in confined spaces.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, piping, and filtration equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
