Job Description

As a Specialist Radiologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality radiology services to patients across the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. Your primary purpose will be to deliver these services in a way that meets the clinical needs of patients and the diagnostic and/or interventional requirements of referring clinicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist radiology services across the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
  • Deliver services in a way that meets the clinical needs of patients and the diagnostic and/or interventional requirements of referring clinicians.
  • Actively promote and participate in educational forums and instruct, supervise, and support radiology JMOs and other clinicians to ensure service provisions are safe, accurate, appropriate, and timely.
  • Maintain and further develop the knowledge base, clinical competencies, practical procedure skills, research basics, and self-education habits required of a specialist radiologist.
  • Participate in the on-call consultant roster.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement processes, including quality requesting, image quality assessment, and feedback, and personal effectiveness and development activities.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Radiology and eligible to hold an appropriate NSW radiation license from NSW Environmental Protection Agency.
