Prudential Risk - Senior Vice President

BNY Mellon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Risk team as a Prudential Risk - Senior Vice President. This role is located in Manchester and offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review and assess the applicability of global prudential regulations, providing insightful reporting and analysis to senior stakeholders on regulatory requirements and their impacts on capital, liquidity, market risk, credit risk, financial resilience, and governance oversight.
  2. Coordinate cross-functional or complex regulatory requirements and analyze potential change requirements, ensuring no gaps in coverage.
  3. Provide a central point of contact within the 2nd line risk function for large-scale projects, offering technical advice, oversight, and challenge to management on prudential regulatory requirements.
  4. Offer thought leadership on thematic regulatory changes for relevant BNY management and client-facing staff, supporting assessment for completeness of compliance-owned regulatory change processes.
  5. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as Government Affairs and Legal, to represent Risk Management perspectives on prudential regulation topics requiring advocacy.
  6. Support the coordination and management of global financial risk management forums, contributing to the development of Risk and Compliance standards for prudential regulation.
Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in financial risk management and/or regulatory compliance is essential, with a good understanding of key regulations relating to capital, liquidity, or other risk topics. Knowledge of the US or EMEA regulatory landscape and current priorities is preferred, along with experience in translating regulatory understanding into a business context. Managing cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders across technical or framework implementation is also a requirement.
