About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Development Manager to join our Core Systems department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a large team of developers, ensuring the successful delivery of software to agreed timescales, and driving the technical direction of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a large team of developers, ensuring the successful delivery of software to agreed timescales.
  • Drive the technical direction of the team, ensuring the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best practices.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of fit-for-purpose solutions that meet the business needs.
  • Ensure there is capacity and capability to deliver the volume of work required of the business.
  • Effectively manage the support and development responsibilities required of the team, ensuring 24/7 support is available where required.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in managing large teams of developers, with a strong track record of delivering software to agreed timescales.
  • Excellent technical leadership skills, with the ability to drive the technical direction of the team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple streams of activity while shifting focus regularly.
  • Well-organized and skilled in effective time management, people management, coaching, conflict resolution, task allocation, delegation, and risk management.
