About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Development Manager to join our Core Systems department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a large team of developers, ensuring the successful delivery of software to agreed timescales, and driving the technical direction of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the development team to ensure timely delivery of software.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to define, plan, and produce fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Ensure there is capacity and capability to deliver the volume of work required by the business.
  • Effectively manage the support and development responsibilities of the team, ensuring 24/7 support is available where required.
  • Make decisions in time-pressured situations, ensuring the stability of the site and service to our customers is paramount.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in managing large teams of developers.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of software development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make well-balanced decisions under pressure.
