About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Land Acquisition Specialist to join our team at Vistry Group. As a key member of our Land and Development team, you will be responsible for securing land opportunities to meet the company's requirements and expansion plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and acquire residential land within Hampshire, Surrey & West Sussex
  • Negotiate and manage complex, multi-party legal agreements
  • Develop and maintain regular contact with key land agents/owners
  • Identify suitable immediate land opportunities, on and off market
  • Present to landowners and agents on a formal and informal basis
  • Negotiate legal agreements with Vistry lawyers and third parties
  • Procure and review technical, legal and development information during bid preparation process
  • Present bid proposals to Regional Board in advance of submitting offers
  • Prepare and submit Land Approval Packs and obtain authority to acquire sites in line with Company policies and protocols
  • Manage the offer process and provide support to the Land Director and Managing Director
Requirements
  • Educated to a minimum of Degree standard (on a relevant course) or with suitable alternative experience
  • Computer literate and able to use Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to a good standard
  • Track record of successfully acquiring residential land within Hampshire, Surrey & West Sussex
  • Experience negotiating and managing through to completion complex, multi-party legal agreements
  • Experience of working in a PLC housebuilder
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional manner, commensurate with delivering business development and promoting the Company
  • Highly literate able to understand and interpret complex legal documentation
  • Highly numerate with the ability to undertake residual valuations for land appraisals, undertake comparable sales valuations and provided sensitivity analysis
  • A good understanding of legal obligations
  • Proven list of contacts in the area
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Local Planning Authorities in Hampshire, Surrey & West Sussex
  • In-depth understanding of budget management
  • Excellent negotiation and networking skills
  • A pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • A methodical approach to working practices
  • A self-starter capable of creating and maintaining momentum in projects
  • Decision making/problem solving/multi-tasking
  • Able to work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Can influence and persuade others
  • Willing to work extra to meet deadlines, as and when the business needs require it
Desirable
  • RTPI/RICS qualified or working towards a qualification
