Citigroup Global Markets Limited is seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the role of Principal Engineering Manager, a hands-on senior management position responsible for driving technology innovation and leading high-performing teams in applications development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple teams of professionals to achieve established goals and conduct personnel duties such as performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
  • Design and implement the technical foundation for low latency payment offerings, ensuring scalability, security, and seamless integration with partner ecosystems.
  • Define and implement the technical architecture and infrastructure strategy for the tech platform, guaranteeing it meets stringent 99.99% uptime and 5000+ TPS requirements.
  • Establish the technical vision and roadmap, optimizing for high throughput, low latency, and 24/7 availability across 63+ markets.
  • Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management, and planning while monitoring end results.
Requirements
  • Hands-on experience with multiple programming languages and technologies such as Java, scripting languages, Linux containers, observability tools, Mongo DB, Kafka.
  • Exposure to low latency technologies like garbage-free programming, cache-aware programming, openHFT, IPC, JVM warmup, Core isolation.
  • Experience with streaming frameworks (AKKA, Kafka, Solace) and ability to code to existing frameworks and set coding standards for junior developers.
  • Working knowledge of industry practices and standards, consistently demonstrating clear and concise written and verbal communication.
