Job Description

We are seeking an experienced senior engineer to lead our engineering projects across multiple sites in the UK. As Head of Engineering & Projects, you will play a crucial role in shaping our engineering investment strategy and ensuring the seamless delivery of all CAPEX factory and services projects.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Engineering Project Management: Oversee and lead a portfolio of engineering projects to the highest standards across several sites within the cluster.
  • Factory Services Leadership: Ensure effective management of factory services, including electrical and services operations.
  • Engineering Compliance Champion: Ensure all engineering activities meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Work closely with our Senior Leadership Team to align engineering goals with strategic objectives.
  • Project Management Expertise: A track record of successfully managing complex projects, with a strong focus on delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Your duties will encompass oversight of regulatory compliance, project management, team development, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an effective and efficient engineering project strategy.
  • Oversee the management of Capital Projects UK, leading electrical, services, and UK engineering compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to our Operations Director, Site Engineering Managers, and site management teams on all matters related to engineering within the cluster.
  • Optimize and improve the plant's productive capabilities to meet business demands, including the provision and efficient use of utilities while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Skills and Qualifications Required

  • Proven Leadership: Significant experience in a senior engineering management role within the manufacturing sector.
  • This could include Food, Drink, Pharma, and related consumer goods manufacturing, encompassing process and packaging.
  • NEBOSH Certificate qualified.
  • Mechanical/electrical qualification or equivalent, ideally degree even better if you are chartered.
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience; with exposure to FMCG environments ideal.
  • Track record of engineering project delivery.
  • Ability to manage priorities and projects across a multi-site and multi-function organization.
