Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Worcestershire. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of mechanical solutions for complex defence systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development of mechanical solutions, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
- Manage design evolution, DFMEA, and optimization of engineering solutions
- Provide technical direction and leadership on business programmes
- Work in accordance with mechanical and company design lifecycles
- Formulate prototype designs and produce physical representations
- Provide key support to critical technical problem investigations and deliver effective solutions
- Chair, support, and facilitate reviews and sign off release of mechanical designs
- Engineering, Technical, or Science Degree/MSc qualified, or equivalent, with demonstratable aerospace, defence, or related experience
- Demonstrate understanding of engineering first principles applied to problem solving and concurrent engineering practices
- Experience in mechanical engineering detailed design, including engineering design, analysis, tolerance studies, and generation of technical documentation
- Ability to lead teams and engage with customers, demonstrating the ability to fulfill customer and regulatory requirements
- Able to communicate complex technical aspects clearly and concisely
- Appreciation of Systems Engineering approach and Project Management Fundamentals
- Business awareness, understanding of fundamental business principles, drivers, and key customers
