Administrative Support Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Officer to join our team in the Cardio-Respiratory department at NHS Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the department, including booking and rescheduling appointments, handling telephone inquiries, and performing reception duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the department, including booking and rescheduling appointments
- Handle telephone inquiries and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner
- Perform reception duties, including greeting patients and visitors
- Maintain accurate records and files, both physical and electronic
- Develop and implement administrative procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
Requirements:
- Good keyboard and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
- Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting
Working Hours: 19 hours per week, within the 9-5pm service. Hours/days to be confirmed.
Fixed Term/Secondment Opportunity: Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager. The secondment policy can be found on the NHS Scotland website.
