About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor to join our Haematology team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide patient-centred clinical care, working autonomously to diagnose and treat patients with haematological disorders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with haematological malignancies and general haematology conditions.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support the management of patients with haematology disorders.
  • Participate in weekly outpatient clinics and offer support to day case units for patient reviews and prescribing chemotherapy.
  • Contribute to the integrated Haemato-oncology Clinical MDT, monthly quality meetings, weekly educational sessions, and mortality and morbidity meetings.

Person Specification

  • Full registration with the GMC with licence to practice.
  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
  • Medical Degree from a recognised University.
  • A minimum of 4 years full-time postgraduate training or equivalent experience and competencies.
  • Experience in the management of patients with haematological malignancies and general haematology.
  • Knowledge of the processes and function of clinical governance.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English and ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, carers, and other health professionals.
