Maintenance Craftsman Job Opening

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Craftsman to join our team in Keele, Newcastle Under Lyme ST5. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of tasks including repair works, fitting, and maintenance jobs on site.

Main Duties:

  • Carrying out repairs, maintenance, and planned improvement duties across the University's estate.
  • Working on a variety of tasks including changing door hinges, intumescent strips, adjusting gaps in doors, installing drop down seals, replacing handles, and carrying out carpentry and joinery work.
  • Liaising with the stores department to ensure the correct materials and equipment are available.
  • Responding to calls for urgent work, both inside and outside normal working hours.

Requirements:

  • Safety boots and personal protective equipment.
  • A woodwork machinery qualification according to PUWER.
  • Substantial experience as a Joiner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
