About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in promoting and advising on all aspects of Health and Safety and environmental issues within a construction company's environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prevent injury to personnel and damage to plant and equipment.
  • Improve existing working methods.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements affecting health, safety, and welfare.
  • Provide and use protective clothing and equipment.
  • Evaluate the suitability of plant, equipment, materials, and services from a safety viewpoint.
  • Identify potential hazards arising from contracts and site safety organization, arrangements, and fire precautions.
  • Develop methods of safe working.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation.
  • Assist during tendering, planning, and pre-contract stages to advise on safety, health, and welfare matters.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with statute codes of practice and company safety arrangements.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH General or Construction certification.
  • Member of IOSH.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Good knowledge of H & S Legislation.
  • Previous experience in a construction health and safety position.
