The Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Support Engineer to join our team at Liberty Steel Hartlepool. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing first-line electrical support to our manufacturing areas, ensuring maximum availability of equipment within the two Mills on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct all aspects of the job in a safe manner and adhere to statutory and mandatory safety regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Execute planned maintenance tasks effectively, working through the task schedule in order of priority.
  • Respond to plant breakdowns and machine size changes, ensuring plant downtime is minimised.

Requirements

  • Completed an electrical apprenticeship.
  • Worked in a multi-skilled environment within a heavy engineering manufacturing environment.
  • A systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and use of computer-based maintenance software.

Desirable Skills

  • Working effectively within a team.
  • Industrial/domestic wiring.
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Control Systems.
  • Overhead Cranes & associated safety systems.
  • PLC's in the main Allen Bradley and Siemens.
  • Expertise with AC and DC motor/gearbox drive systems of various configurations.
  • Variable speed motor control with inverters and converters, including speed feedback devices.

Working Arrangements

This role currently operates on a 2 shift system of work encompassing mornings and afternoons on a Monday to Friday basis. The successful candidate will need to be prepared to work differing shift patterns as workload dictates (additional payment is made in such eventualities).
