Aerospace Safety Manager

Overview:

EA First Compass House is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Health and Safety department, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and maintaining an effective health and safety function.

Salary and Benefits:

We are offering a competitive salary of £45,000 per annum, plus benefits including 25 days annual leave, company car, pension, and private healthcare.

Responsibilities:
  1. Interpreting and Adapting Legislation: Ensure that all current legislation is understood and implemented within the organisation, including Office Risk Assessments, Accident Reporting, and H&S Policies.
  2. Mandatory Training: Ensure that all employees are up-to-date with mandatory training, including Annual, CSCS, and NVQ qualifications.
  3. Grant Applications: Manage grant applications to support the business's health and safety initiatives.
  4. Training Matrix: Maintain an accurate training matrix to ensure that all employees have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  5. Safeguarding Checks: Arrange DBS and other safeguarding checks for on-site staff.
  6. Risk Assessments: Complete risk assessment method statements (RAMS) and COSHH assessments to identify potential hazards.
  7. Accreditations: Ensure that the business's accreditations, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, are maintained and updated.
  8. PPE Budget: Manage the personal protective equipment budget to ensure that employees have access to the necessary safety gear.
  9. Team Support: Provide specific support and advice to the team to ensure that they are equipped to perform their roles safely.
