About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Fire Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering fire engineering design solutions to clients across various sectors, including cities and development, commercial, energy, residential, and transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a range of projects, from residential buildings to rail transportation and new energy facilities.
  • Service projects from inception to delivery, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards.
  • Support the delivery of project work within time and cost budgets.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulations and legislation.
  • Develop and implement fire strategies.
  • Conduct site visits and assess fire-related risks.
  • Review and comment on fire safety-related installations.
  • Undertake tenders for new work.
  • Prepare reports, participate in design team meetings, and liaise with client representatives.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree, preferably in fire engineering or a postgraduate qualification in fire engineering.
  • Experience working with fire standards, including BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, and EN45545.
  • Fire modeling experience is beneficial.
  • Able to work towards chartered fire engineer status.
  • Flexible approach to the working environment.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Ability to collate information and have a clear, structured approach to report writing.
