Job Opportunity: SENCO Support for Child Mental Health

About the Role:

The SENCO of a reputable Primary School is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant with a graduate level degree in Child Psychology to support small groups of pupils across the school who require additional SEMH support. The school is committed to ensuring each child receives the right level of support and has created a new role to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individual children.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Liaise with outside agencies to provide comprehensive support to children and families.
  2. Provide individual and small group support to children, including delivering 1:1 sessions in the classroom and intervention rooms.
  3. Liaise with class teachers to ensure effective communication and coordination of support.
  4. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with children, families, and staff members at all levels.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be qualified up to degree level and have a good understanding of each individual child's needs. They must be open-minded, committed to inclusion, and able to build strong relationships with children and families. The ability to work dynamically and resiliently in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Working Arrangements:

The working hours will be 8:45-15:30 each day, with some flexibility for staff meetings. The successful candidate will report directly to the SENCO and will be part of a dynamic and supportive team.
