We are seeking an experienced Category Management Specialist to join our team at Refuel Talent. As a Category Management Specialist, you will play a key role in assisting in the development and execution of our client's convenience store strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Category Management
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Category Management Strategic Plan, including floor plan optimization, price positioning, category roles, and planogram design.
- Analyze sales, costs, and margins of products to inform category management decisions.
- Collaborate with pricing coordinators to analyze prices by channels and competitors.
- Execute planogram optimization plans to drive sales and profitability.
- Analyze market research information to inform category management strategies.
- Convenience Retail Information Systems
- Manage spaceman and similar software to optimize category performance.
- Analyze category Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to inform business decisions.
- Convenience Retail Promotional Plan
- Develop an annual competitive promotional plan based on category management analysis.
- Negotiate and implement promotions with vendors to drive sales and profitability.
- Develop point-of-purchase (POP) material according to execution guidelines.
- Evaluate promotional plan performance to inform future strategies.
- CR Profitability
- Analyze performance reports (sales + margins) for categories and subcategories to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and execute specific plans to ensure continuous CR performance improvement.
- Negotiate vendor rebates in collaboration with CR Manager to drive profitability.
- Optimize vendor supply chain agreements to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Follow up on vendor rebates and additional services agreements to ensure timely payment.
Requirements
- Experience working within convenience retail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in spaceman and similar software.
