A challenging opportunity has arisen for a skilled Workshop Engineer to join our team at our Earth Moving Workshop in Biggleswade. The successful candidate will contribute to the success of our company by carrying out effective maintenance and repair work on equipment brought into the workshop, ensuring both quality standards and timelines for repair are optimised at all times.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out routine pre-delivery inspections of new machines to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  2. Fits approved extras to machines and modifies machines according to guidelines and specifications.
  3. Perform all forms of repair and servicing to machines, including routine maintenance and complex repairs.
  4. Contribute to the repair, overhaul and diagnosis of plant equipment, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of issues.
  5. Develop effective working relationships with the workshop team and contribute to a positive and productive workshop environment.
  6. Maintain clear communication with the workshop supervisor to ensure customer expectations are met and high levels of customer satisfaction are achieved.
  7. Support and mentor engineering apprentices as part of our apprenticeship programme.
  8. Work in accordance with our company quality assurance guidelines, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  9. Take initiative to maintain good housekeeping standards in the workshop area, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
Requirements for Success:
  1. Satisfactory completion of a recognised apprenticeship in a related industry to NVQ level 3.
  2. Flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
