Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our warehouse operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our warehouse, including inventory management, material handling, and facilities maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and respond to all incoming email enquiries from the Store mailbox.
  • Coordinate and book incoming deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of goods.
  • Prepare and organize pallets for dispatch, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Create and manage FedEx shipments, including international shipments of hazardous goods.
  • Sort and distribute post to site employees, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Organize international shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders in SAP and Coupa, ensuring accurate and timely ordering of supplies.
  • Handle EDC returns efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to warehouse operations.
  • Perform warehouse manual handling and operate forklifts as required, ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods.
  • Assist in inventory management, including stock counts and audits.
  • Conduct regular audits of warehouse safety and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Cover for Mike during his absence, ensuring all his responsibilities are met.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of warehouse supplies, including office consumables and cleaning products.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain an organized and clean warehouse layout, ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed, including regular fire drills and equipment testing.
  • Perform routine safety inspections and equipment testing, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints related to warehouse operations, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to meet customer expectations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of supplies and materials.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of goods.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of supplies and materials, including international shipments of hazardous goods.
  • Manage International Shipments of Hazardous Goods, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and safety protocols.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions, ensuring continuous improvement of warehouse operations.
  • Facilities Duties:
    • Change gas cylinders safely and in accordance with safety protocols.
    • Act as a key holder and emergency contact person.
    • Conduct weekly site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
    • Manage the CMS Workshop, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
    • Order uniforms for all Thermo and Unity employees, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
    • Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) as required, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
    • Manage cabale management to ensure a tidy and safe work environment.
    • Serve as Fire Warden, conducting regular fire drills and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
    • Perform weekly fire alarm testing, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
    • Undertake small maintenance jobs around the site, including minor repairs, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
    • Manage site clearance, waste management, and disposal, ensuring compliance with company standards.
    • Perform weekly water tap flushing to maintain hygiene standards.
    • Conduct weekly checks on fridges and freezers to ensure proper operation.
    • Clean the backyard and jet wash emergency evacuation routes, ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods.
    • Maintain outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, parking lots, and walkways, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
    • Maintain housekeeping standards on the mezzanine floor, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
    • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, ensuring compliance with company standards.
    • Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
    • Ensure outdoor areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained, ensuring compliance with company standards.
    • Assist with facility improvement projects and renovations, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth project execution, ensuring compliance with company standards.
    • Cover reception duties during mornings and lunch breaks, ensuring timely and effective communication.
    • Assist in coordinating site events and meetings, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
    • Monitor and reorder facility supplies, such as office consumables and cleaning products, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
    • Maintain and update facility-related documentation and records, ensuring compliance with company standards.
