Transportation Team Supervisor Position

We're seeking a highly skilled Transportation Team Supervisor to join our Transportation Maintenance team in Birmingham. This role offers competitive annual holiday entitlement, opportunities to buy/sell leave, a fantastic matched pension scheme, and more.

This role involves supervising contract operational works, ensuring they meet health and safety requirements, budget, and programme goals while maintaining client satisfaction and meeting KPI metrics. You'll be responsible for supervising the delivery of planned, reactive, third-party repairs, winter maintenance, and scheme works.
Your daily tasks will include:
- Accountability for Operative behaviours, promoting health & safety in the workplace, setting a good example, and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general health & safety responsibilities
- Actively promoting company culture and values, including equal opportunities and respect for all, championing use of and compliance with the SHEMS
- Undertaking shift briefings, site inductions, toolbox talks with operational staff, identifying risks and hazards, and managing relevant records
- Ensuring work packs are relevant and suitable for purpose, conducting inspections, monitoring workmanship and material quantities, and carrying out various audits
- Assisting with incident management, communicating with sub-contractors, emergency services, public, clients, and customers, and participating in development, recruitment, and selection of new operatives and apprentices
This role is ideal for those with relevant supervisory experience, knowledge of electrical works – Traffic Signals / Streetlighting, and a valid driving license. As a supervisor, you'll be responsible for allocating resources, managing works, and ensuring compliance with programmes.
We offer a competitive salary package, estimated at around £45,000-£55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
