Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in our primary schools in Stockport.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with SEND and hold a valid Level 1, 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. They will be confident in building effective working relationships with adults and pupils, and have excellent ICT skills.

The role is on a supply basis, with work available on a flexible schedule. The successful candidate will be expected to support the class teacher with daily tasks, support children individually or in groups, and deliver smaller intervention sessions to groups of children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher with daily tasks
  • Support children individually or in groups
  • Deliver smaller intervention sessions to groups of children
  • Potentially support at lunchtime on duty

Person Specification:

  • Experience working with children with SEND
  • Hold a valid Level 1, 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Confident in building effective working relationships with adults and pupils
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • Current DBS on the update service or willing to provide a new one
