Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at TeacherActive. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs in a variety of settings, including schools and special educational needs units.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with complex needs, including those with autism, severe learning difficulties, and emotional and behavioral difficulties.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of lessons, including creating and implementing educational materials.
  • Monitor and record student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with autism and severe learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students and staff.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs legislation and policies, including the SEND Code of Practice.
