About the Role

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer at Siemens Energy, your day will be filled with engaging interactions with suppliers, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met, while fostering strong relationships with our valued suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Product Qualification Activities at Suppliers – Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs)
  • Contain, handle and resolve Quality issues relating to supplier non-conforming components identified at assembly facilities, warehouses or customers globally.
  • Manage suppliers to properly handle non-conformance issues.
  • Assist with process improvements.
  • Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through Problem Resolution process.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to ensure business continuity.
  • Identify and support cost reduction opportunities through interaction with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business.
  • Audit existing and potential suppliers to determine capability of manufacturing and ensure quality systems are in place.
  • Develop supplier capability to meet current and future requirements.
  • Interact with customer-facing businesses to investigate potential product non-conformances.

Requirements

  • Technical training or further education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM) and Quality Control routines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with design engineering organization to ensure parts are manufacturable.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-problem investigations simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated attitude and ownership of projects.
  • Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end.
  • Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or working with critical parts.
  • Proven track record of application of Quality improvement processes and tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
  • SAP experience.
